SYDNEY FROM SPACE
You can actually see the Sydney Harbour Bridge in this photo if you look hard. Look dead centre of the photo plus a fingers width higher, it looks like a bit of cotton stretched across the harbour between the land. The Opera House is the white dot on the point of land one quarter of an inch below the bridge.
Even some of the wakes of the ferries and power boats can be seen on the harbour in this great photo taken from space. Sydney Airports two Mascot runways are clearly visible on Botany Bay which is the bay in the bottom left hand corner of the photo. Many of Sydneys beaches are visible in this photo.
A photo taken from a position over the Blue Mountain region looking east back towards the coast. Points of interest in this photo...... The large bay on the coast is Botany Bay. Note the two fingers of land at the 8 o'clock position of the Bay which are the two runways of Kingsford-Smith (Mascot) airport. If you look carefully, in the bottom left hand corner of the photo, you can see the the mouth of the Hawksbury River system. Roughly halfway between the Hawksbury River entrance and Botany Bay along the coast is Sydney Harbour, hard to see in this photo due to the shades of blue.
Right in the centre at the bottom of the picture is Prospect Reservoir, Sydney's main water supply showing up as a darker shade of blue.
